Foods To Consume In The Week After Wisdom Teeth Removal?
Posted on 7/24/2023 by Dr. Shaun Rai
The first few days after undergoing dental surgery will leave your mouth with discomfort and irritation. This becomes a challenge especially when choosing the right diet. Due to the nature of the wound, consuming certain foods could be a challenge. Consider what you consume during the first seven days after the surgery. It will help you recover quickly and go back to normal again.
Blended Soups
Soups are rich in vitamins, which are essential for the quick healing of dental surgeries. They are also good for hydration, which is also crucial for a faster recovery. Due to the soreness in the wound, take soups such as pumpkin soup, tomato soup, broccoli cheddar soup, and any other kind of soup according to your taste and liking. Take these soups when they are lukewarm as hot things will irritate the site of operation.
Broth
Broth can be a good delicacy after tooth removal. It's thick and contains proteins and vitamins as it is made up of vegetables and meat. Apart from being tasty, the broth will also speed up the recovery process due to its high nutritional value. The broth should also be taken when lukewarm to steer clear of hurting the healing wound.
Smoothies
Smoothies comprise a mixture of blended fruits, milk, or even yogurt and ice cream. There are many recipes for making easy-to-consume, delicious, and smooth smoothies.
Soft Foods
Take soft nutritious foods such as mashed potatoes, mashed avocados, scrambled eggs, and soft bananas. These are easy to eat so long as you don't let them settle on the operated area.
What to Avoid
Do not take acidic, hard, crunchy, or sticky foods as they are likely to hurt you. Avoid very hot or cold drinks too.
